Desmond FitzGerald Photographs


This collection of photographic prints forms part of the papers of Desmond FitzGerald (P80). The majority of theses photographs arise out of the Civil War but other smaller series relate to the aftermath of the Easter Rising and to the War of Independence. There are also other series of army portraits and of historical occasions photographs.

Nurses' home, St. Luke's Hosptial, Rathgar, constructed by G. & T. Crampton in 1951-1954. The architect was Thomas P. Kennedy.

Nurses' home, Newcastle Sanatorium


Peamount Sanatorium, Newcastle, Co. Dublin, originally constructed in 1912. Construction of the Nurses' home was carried out by G. & T. Crampton in 1955.

National Maternity Hospital, Nurses' Home, Merrion Square, constructed by G. & T. Crampton for in 1932-1934. The architect was Ralph Henry Byrne.

Portobello House after refurbishment


Portobello House, Richmond Row / Portobello Harbour, after renovations. The building was originally constructed as a hotel in 1805-1807 and later became a nursing home. The original architect was James Colbourne. Refurbishment by G. & T. Crampton in 1972. The architects for these works were Costello Murray Beaumont. The building is now Atlas Language School.
